Hello everybody!
I have some connection problems with I2P.
It was the first time that i tried to use I2P.
For this attempt i downloaded the IprediaOS.
I am running IprediaOS in a virtual box.
Everytime when i start the router, it takes a few minutes and then the following error messages appear:
"Network: ERR-No Active Peers, Check Network Connection and Firewall"
"Reseed failed. See reseed configuration page for help."
I have tried to set my router firewall to exposed host, switched off my linux firewall and the IprediaOS firewall.
Nothing worked. Everytime the same error messages.
In another attempt i tried to run IprediaOS from an live USB stick.
Same problems.
Can somebody give me some advice what is going wrong?
Is it necessary to spoof the mac-adress when using I2P?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Connection problems, Reseed failed.
IprediaOS dev is stalled, and I2P version is outdated (as I known, 0.9.6)
Try another distribution (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS...)

Re: Connection problems, Reseed failed.
Now it seems to work after i have installed Ubuntu and the new version of I2P.
Thank you!
I can open the I2P console in my firefox browser and access some eepsites.
First of all, there was an information "Network: OK".
Now it changed to "Network: IPv4: OK ; IPv6: Firewalled".
Do i have to open some ports of my router or my software firewall?
Thank you!

Hi!
You can/should open the port of the I2P transport it shows you in network config page on router console for TCP/UDP incoming.
I2P works without, but works better with that open port.

Hi Echelon,
thank you for this information.
I had already opened this port for TCP and UDP.
First of all, everything seems to be okay, but after round about 20 minutes the status switches from „OK“ to „IPv4: OK ; IPv6: Firewalled“
When i deactivate my software firewall, there is the same problem, same error.
These are my network settings:
See attachment.
Are these settings okay?
Information about peers:
active: 15/550
fast : 25
high capacity: 150
integrated: 800
known: 1000
Information about tunnels:
exploratory: 5
client: 4
participation: 1
share ratio: 0,04
I got some further quastions:
- Is it necessacy to spoof the MAC adress when using I2P to be completely anonymous?
- Which ports should be opened at the router? ( https://geti2p.net/de/faq#ports )
- I installed I2Phex plugin, but i cannot find a link to it in the console. How can I open it?
Thank you very much.

Re: Connection problems, Reseed failed.
Hi
not always incoming connections get through, even if firewall is disabled.
I2P publishes the IP address as noted and other nodes trying to reach yours on that IP:port. If your node does not get any incoming connections, it shows firewalled. A log of reasons may happen, wrong IP, errors on ISP, router is buggy, lots more...
If the IP is correct and the firewall is setup correct, not much more you can do.
